Isabelle Block is a Master’s level graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Northwestern University. With a deep respect for the complexity of the human experience, Isabelle brings warmth, empathy, and curiosity to her clinical work. She is passionate about helping individuals and families explore and heal the emotional, relational, and systemic roots of their challenges.
Guided by a systemic and integrative lens, Isabelle is drawn to working with individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of experiences. Areas of interest include depression, anxiety, perfectionism, self-worth, academic and career pressures, childhood and adolescent development, family conflict, grief, shame, social disconnection, and uncertainty about the future. Drawing on her training, Isabelle excels in assisting adults in various life stages; from young professionals navigating career transitions to individuals seeking personal growth and fulfillment in later stages of life.
One of Isabelle’s particular interests is working with children and their families. With years of experience as a nanny and babysitter, she brings a strong understanding of child development and a natural ability to connect with children through play, presence, and patience. Isabelle’s warm and grounded energy helps children feel safe and seen, allowing for trust and rapport to develop organically. Her clinical work is informed by her studies in human development, and she is attuned to the emotional and relational needs that arise during different stages of childhood. She also values working closely with parents and caregivers to support a child’s growth and wellbeing both inside and outside of the therapy room.
