Reiki Healing

What Is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy-based practice that supports relaxation, balance, and overall well-being. Originating in Japan, Reiki is based on the concept that energy flows through all living things. When that energy is low or disrupted, individuals may feel increased stress, tension, or emotional imbalance.

Reiki is used as a complementary (adjunct) service alongside traditional mental health care, helping to support the mind-body connection and promote a sense of calm and restoration.  The primary goal is to create an energetically improved state of being that will manifest long-standing physical and emotional results.

How Does Reiki Work?

During a Reiki session, a trained practitioner uses light touch, or places their hands just above the body to help guide and support the body’s natural energy flow. The goal is not to “fix” or diagnose, but to create an environment where the body and mind can relax and restore themselves.

Clients remain fully clothed and are typically in a comfortable, quiet setting. Sessions are calm and meditative, often incorporating soft lighting and a peaceful atmosphere.

Reiki is not tied to any specific religion or belief system and can be experienced by anyone regardless of background.

Potential Benefits of Reiki

While individual experiences may vary, many clients report:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Increased relaxation and sense of calm
  • Improved emotional balance
  • Greater body awareness
  • Support with processing difficult emotions
  • Enhanced overall sense of well-being and manage life with greater ease

Reiki can be especially helpful for individuals who feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or disconnected, and can serve as a supportive addition to ongoing therapy.

What to Expect During a Session

Your Reiki session will begin with a brief check-in to discuss your goals or intentions. You will then be invited to lie down or sit comfortably while the practitioner gently places their hands on or just above different areas of the body.

Most sessions last between 45–60 minutes. Clients often describe feeling warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, or simply a sense of peace during the session. Some people feel immediate effects, while for others the benefits may build over time.

After the session, there may be a short opportunity to reflect on your experience, though this is always optional.

Reiki as Part of Your Care

Reiki is offered as an adjunct service and is not a substitute for medical or mental health treatment. Instead, it can be thoughtfully integrated into your overall wellness plan to support healing, relaxation, and emotional balance.  sessions may be reimbursable through your insurance Health Savings Account (HSA).

Our trained providers are happy to discuss whether Reiki may be a good fit for your needs.
