What Is Reiki?

What to Expect During a Reiki Session

At Illuminate Therapy & Wellness, Monica begins each session with a brief conversation to better understand your goals, concerns, and intentions for healing. Whether you are navigating stress, emotional challenges, physical tension, or simply seeking greater balance, Monica will tailor the experience to your individual needs. As a licensed therapist, Monica brings a unique understanding of the mind-body connection, creating a safe and supportive space for clients seeking holistic healing and emotional wellness.
As part of her practice, Monica may incorporate crystals, sound frequencies, sage or incense, and pendulums to support the release of stagnant energy and emotions and enhance the overall healing experience. If you have sensitivities to sounds, scents, or specific practices, please let her know before your session so accommodations can be made.
During the session, you will be invited to relax comfortably on a treatment table or couch while remaining fully clothed. Monica will gently hover her hands over or near different areas of the body as she facilitates the flow of Reiki energy. Many clients report experiencing sensations such as warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, emotional release, or a sense of peace during the session, though every experience is unique.
Sessions typically last between 45 and 60 minutes and may include time afterward to reflect on your experience and discuss any insights that emerged.
